For a project I am working on, I need some information.
Is there an on-line "Iliad" cross referenced with all that wonky and geeky
data on who fights from chariots, who fights dismounted, asistance from Gods,
weapons used, that kind of thing only a dissertaion or wargamer would love?

Also, DBM and Warrior army lists allow Old Nestor's Pylian contingent to
fight in the archaic manner, with close packed spearmen. I am trynig to track
down that citation which allows this, but cannot find it. Can anyone give me
book and line for this? I have Lattimore's, Fagles' and Butler's translations.

Thanks
John the OFM

Oh my gosh! A man after my own heart. Nestor (or "geranian Nestor"
from sandy Pylos as he is known in some translations) has always been
my favorite character from the Iliad. My family comes from his
province (Messenia), and I still have family 40 kilometers from
Nestor's palace. I will endeavor to do some research to help you with
this.
