Just to expand on my latest thoughts, I thought I'd put this out to
the group.

What old favorite army/armies you liked in TOG that were mainly
worthless in open competition now have more capasity and deserve
another chance? Doesn't matter if it was list or rule changes that
envigorated the list.

I'll start:

1. Nikephorians were always an upper middle pack list, but with the
new Varangian options I think it has become a silent killer waiting
to wake the touranment world. A combine attack with LHI varangians
and SHC will certainly make this list an infantry killing machine.
Also the availability of Russ spear in numbers as well as HTW and P
options for the Skuts add wicked staying power for the line. Mounted
options range from IrregA HC to RgD LC. Just an overall powerful
list with many many options.

It is certainly a much reved up army. There is nothing about it I
dislike. It sits half painted right now on my table, just waiting
for the chance to crush the unsuspecting Wink

100 Year's War English.

This is an army that under TOG used to show up only because so many people have
such great historical fondness for it. Under TOG, the knights couldn't fight in
a rank and a half with lance, longbow was not as effective, and there really
were no good foot troops other than the longbowmen.

In Warrior, the knights are now as good as any, and can be bought very
efficiently (front rank SHK L,Sh; back rank HK L,Sh).

Longbow got better: close range out to 120 instead of 80.

The longbowmen can now have both 2HCW and Sh, instead of having to choose.

You can get the Brigans, which give you some real foot shock troops. This is
particularly important when fighting those strange, gray, tusked beasts.

Ambrose runs this army. It is truely wicked. But now that I know to
hit the brigans (colonist) with the kniggits, its all over Wink
