I'm trying to figure out if the old lists have an enforced ratio
between the Hastati, Principes, and Triarii. Does anyone have the
list who can tell me?
I'm trying to see if my assembled mass of Big Battle DBA armies can
be turned into some form of 1200 point Warrior army. I currently have
18 elements HI, HTW, SH
6 elements HI, LTS, SH
6 elements LI,JLS, SH
6 elements HC,JLS,SH
I have 24 figures of Italian foot, which given their giant hoplon-
like shields probably should be close order infantry. They could
possibly be rebased as loose order, though.
plus 43 elements of Gallic foot -- I think they're Irr D though on
this list if long-faded memory serves. I also have a good number of
Carthaginian horse, foot, elephants, and others that could pretend to
be Romans if needed.
I'm not pretending this lot makes a good army, just one that I might
be able to use some time.
In the meantime, I have plenty of troops for Romans, Carthos, and
Gauls in Fast Warrior. That gives me something to do.

I don't remember off the top of my head but from what you have listed below, I
think you're more than covered in doing some flavor of Camillan/Polybian/Marian
Roman.

No enforced ratio in the 6th ed _Camillan_ lists (which cover the
Polybian period). Not sure without checking (and the files are avail
on this group) wether NASAMW changed that.
My comments below are strictly against the 6th ed lists. Not sure
even which book these would be in for the "new WRG".

I _think_ You have a small, but legal, core list here. You need to
downgrade 2-4 elements of your HC to MC. You also need at most 2 of
these HC cav els, or some additional elements, for generals.
Everybody is going to "C" class Regs except the HC (not MC) is "B"
class and the LTS is "B" class. The LI is irreg C class. You can run
the generals as B class or A class.
Italian allies (your hoplites?) are optional but if used are going
to have to be Reg D LMI, or up to half LHI, jav/shield. Just a few
can be upgraded to B class also. And you can have a slew of these.
There's some optional Gauls too in the list Irr D LMI jav/sh but
only enough for maybe 8E.
Just work out the points from there and see what you got. Should be
something tourney-legal anyway.

The NASAMW files on this site are updates to the 6th edition lists.
No independent Camillan list was published by NASAMW.
Thanks for the help, though.
