Jon,
You mentioned as an aside in an earlier post that Oriental Warrior was at the
printer now. Does that mean you can give us a date for when it will be
available, and when will FHE begin accepting orders for OW?

I'm about to order the core rules and a couple army lists before I
head back overseas. If OW is due out soon, any chance of it being
delivered by 10 January? If so I'll hold off and order everything at
once. Please advise. Thanks.

OW goes to the printers this coming weekend. It will not be available by 10
January.

I have not been very active in Warrior due to work for sometime now,
so please forgive me if I have missed other thought on this topic.
My wonderful wife surprised me with OW for my birthday, which I have
only been able to really look at over the last few days.
As anyone who knows my gaming history will tell you I have loved
orienal armies for as long as I have been gaming. The Japanese are
dear to my heart and thank you for making them a more viable
tourniment army. I also like the significant redution in minimums as
well as being able to give shields to only front rankers.(please note
I'm a 15mm player) It looks like this will be a nice advantage for
alot of armies.
Question; Will there be a rewrite of the other lists to bring them up
to this new list format?
On to the Mongols, WOW!!
I really applaud the innovative list rules, the Mongols did need them.
15mm light cav. rules have been, NEVER put another unit behind a LC
unit. This rule still hold true for all other LC exept the Mongols.
This has changed the 15mm game, how will play itself out over time. I
can only guest at this point what the changes will be, so I will.
One possible change might be two divisions at tourniments, one for
top players with Mongols and one for everyone else. No, they are not
unbeatable, but damn, it will take some great play and a good match up
to do so. I look forward to the challenge. I am not being negative or
sarcastic,it's just my assessment thus far, and yes, I will began
building an army with Mongols very soon.

Dave,
If you build a Mongol Army in Texas, does that mean that Greg and his
cohorts will be refering to you as Ms. Beason?!?! :)

Not really. Mostly because this is not a new list format. The lists that have
list rules are the ones we have always planned to have list rules. the fact
that there is a higher percentage of list rules in IW/OW/CW than
BW/DAW/HW/NWW/FW is because of what armies are in those three books - and is the
reason they were done after the others, to permit more playtesting time.
What we will do is this:
-As part of the clean-up for the making of the master army list book, we will be
reviewing all the minima in lists in Biblical and Dark Age Warrior.
-There *may* be, in some very LIMITED cases, one or two list rules added to
existing lists. At this time, I am only aware of one that we have under
consideration (no, don't ask).
There isn't going to be any wholesale revision or anything like that. The
master list book is also a long way off.
Jon

No really, it will be very hard to beat a top player with
Mongols in the list in 15mm. I not a 25mmm yet but the list

I'm not triing to be a pain here, but, it is a huge
change, call it what you will. I know you have been
playing a long time, I've been playing since 6th ED.
This is the biggest change in the game since you all
got the rules. I'm glad to hear you will be "cleanig
up" the lists but my concern is that if the other
lists are not brought up to this level the balance
between the lists will be gone. I've just begun
playing with the Mongol list and I've already
saved 200 points by not having to buy shields for
the back rank. Top players don't need an additional
200pts. to play with and niether do I.
Jon, don't get me wrong I like list rules, I just
think this should be looked at one more time.
If I could go to the NICT this year I take Mongols
that is if I had a 25mm army:)
