Friends
You know me, I do not jump at every little internet hoax out there, but this one
is very dangerous.
I just received an email that looks an awful lot like it came from paypal. The
URL looks exactly like the paypal webpage. It tells you that there has been
some recent activity on your account that looks suspicious and asks you to go to
this url and fill out your info so you can be 'verified'.
Do NOT do this. It's a hoax. Just to show yourself it is a hoax, type in any
old name and password and you'll still get to the sign in and 'verification
page'.
Go check in through paypal normally to your account to show yourself that
everything is fine.
I am sure paypal will get this under control shortly, but in the meantime, do
not give this 'verification page' any of your info. It even asks for your atm
pin, for pete's sake...
Pass this along to our friends who are paypal users.
Jon
