Which order can we expect to see these?

I take it you weren't soliciting order preference for the above, but my
preference nonetheless...

Warrior Rulebook
Warrior Battles
Oriental Warrior
Classical Warrior

> Ok, place the following in the order you want them:
<snip>

Campaign Warrior
Fantasy Warrior
SwordClash
Siege Warrior
Fleet Warrior
Warrior Card Game

Question: I recall you mentioning awhile back that it was decided to
publish Fantasy Warrior Battles, rather than Fantasy Warrior - but I don't
recall what verdict was for folks who prefer their fantasy with
lots of detail and crunch... i.e. I'd rather play Fantasy Warrior than
Fantasy Warrior Battles. ( though of course FWB would be great for
introductory purposes. )

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to the new Warrior Rulebook - what's
the ETA?

Fellow Warriors

It has been really quiet this week, which has allowed me to make a lot of
progress on Warrior stuff. In looking ahead, I'd like to revisit in this forum
the issue of what we work on in what order.

Please reply using this subject line and place the following in the order you'd
like to see them done - sooner to later. If you are in a group of players and
are the one who monitors here, you can include multiple opinions or tell me how
many in your group agree with your list.

First, here's what we are making for sure in the next eight months:
Oriental Warrior
Warrior Rulebook
Classical Warrior
Warrior Battles (intro game)

Ok, place the following in the order you want them:

Campaign Warrior (campaign module for Warrior)
Siege Warrior (rules for Warrior sieges)
Fleet Warrior (ancient naval rules/ships in Warrior games)
Warrior Card Game (each card is a unit, leader, terrain feature, event)
Fantasy Warrior Battles (fantasy version of WB)
SwordClash (skirmish game - ancient/med and fantasy)

That is the order they will be completed.

<<Campaign Warrior
Fantasy Warrior
SwordClash
Siege Warrior
Fleet Warrior
Warrior Card Game>>

We will do both eventually. But we won't make a decision on the how and when
until after Warrior Battles is done.

<<Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to the new Warrior Rulebook - what's

ASAP. Literally. Exact month? Don't know yet. But you'll be using by next
summer for sure.

P.S. I would put Classical Warrior to the very top of the list, but it's not
to be. Oh well.

And as a note on that for discussion (not trying to get two votes in...
really), Since a campaign might involve things like sieges and fleets, I
would like to see the rules for those fleshed out before a campaign system.
I think the campaign would be missing something without all of the
components.

How about we make the game and you do our draft Videssos list? lol FWB
will come with 60 core lists, but we will do virtually any on request and make
them available free online.

Otherwise, honestly, there are probably no
products on that list I would have any interest in buying as I think
there are more fun games out there to fit those genres than I
believe would likely result from a modified application of the
Warrior game engine.>>
Says you...lol And not all of those steal so much from Warrior that they
would not be competitive...

One item you have not mentioned which I think would be useful is an
actual modifiction to the core Warrior rules for 5-6mm scale. The
reason for this, rather than simply down-scaling the current rules,
is that if you talk to people who play and support that scale the
main benefit of 5-6mm troops is using them en masse on fixed
dioramic whole-unit bases rather than micromanaging unit formations >>
Good note - something I will take a look at.

Jon

It is a worthy suggestion, but you don't 'have' to. Campaign Warrior is
written with three ways of doing both sieges and sea movment. One each of
which
is Fleet/Siege Warrior with the attendant detail.

If there are more people who want Campaign out sooner and plan on just a
land game with simplified sieges, then we'll do that first.

If there are more folks who would only want Campaign if they could do it
with all the bells and whistles, then we'll do the others first.

Okay, I view campaign, seige and (to a slightly lesser extent) fleet
as all part of supporting your core product - like army lists and
the new rulebook. So those three are way ahead of anything else in
my list. Within that I had a definite opinion but Allan made a good
point in his post. So I would vote...

1st-2nd) Seige Warrior AND Campaign Warrior, more or less worked on
and put out simultaneously while allowing for additional impact from
naval stuff. I guess if pressed I would prefer campaign first as not
all campaigns involve seiges and set-piece seiges are probably of
less interest to me personally than campaigns. But Allan did have a
good point here.

3rd) Fleet Warrior with campaign addenda as required.

After that, depends. _If_ you do Videssos lists I would go for
Fantasy Warrior Battles. Otherwise, honestly, there are probably no
products on that list I would have any interest in buying as I think
there are more fun games out there to fit those genres than I
believe would likely result from a modified application of the
Warrior game engine. Sorry, but that is honest feedback for one
man's opinion. But, hey, if it keeps FHE in business so they can
continue to support the core system that's great.

One item you have not mentioned which I think would be useful is an
actual modifiction to the core Warrior rules for 5-6mm scale. The
reason for this, rather than simply down-scaling the current rules,
is that if you talk to people who play and support that scale the
main benefit of 5-6mm troops is using them en masse on fixed
dioramic whole-unit bases rather than micromanaging unit formations
or, worse yet, using them as substitutes for casualty markers.
Warrior/7th/DBM/AW-MW/etc get around the latter now days but NO
major rule set avoids the former, and Warrior could gain a jump in
appeal at that scale by figuring out a way to do this. The game
would be very different mind you but it is not like there is a lot
of cash currently invested in 6mm Warrior armies that folks have
built just-so in a plan to win the 6mm NICT. You had asked once what
could be done to support that scale in Warrior and I think that is
the gist of my answer to that, once again speaking as one person.

But that last paragraph is not really what you were asking for now,
so sorry hope you don't mind too much.

Have you considered a 'Systems 7' type module to try to get people interested
in system cheaply?
