I need some help figuring out the LI recall move in front of heavy foot.
So if I move my LI unit to 40p (or the foot close with my LI) then after prep
shooting, my LI either declares it will make a recall or it takes a waver
test?
If the heavy foot charges after I declare the recall, I evade. (Which I was
probably going to d anyway if charged.)
If he doesn't charge, I have to make the recall move and then rally?
When do I end the rally?

Yes.
<<When do I end the rally? >>
End of next approaches if steady. End of next turn if unsteady.

There are times when you might make any combat results move (recall, rout,
recoil, etc.) "towards" and opponent. Yes.

Just a question? Can you actually recall towards an opponent? We see
nothing in the rules and think so. We had a situation yesterday where a
body of LI with a body of enemy LC 220p to its rear had to recall from close
order foot. We recalled the LI 120p right towards the LC. The rules seems
to support this, we have no problem with it, I am merely asking if it is
correct. It did look a bit odd as it happened.
