I am looking for illustrations of various later Acheamenid Persian troops –
particularly the Bactrians, Babylonians, etc..  I have the WRG book on the
Macedonian and Punic Wars as well as the Osprey Persian Army book – but they
neither one are helping much with the fringe troop types.

Can anyone help point me towards some good sources of info?

Thanks

Duncan Head wrote a Montvert book on the Ach. Perrsians. Sort of like a more
scholarly version of an Osprey. It is OOP, but can be found second hand
quite often. Has many of the "subject races" as well as many illos of
earlier and later APs.

Scott,

Montvert Publications Put out an Osprey style book called "The Achaemenid
Persian Army" which is written by Duncan Head and the color plates are by
Richard Scollins. It's about 72 pages long and has everything your looking for.
I believe you can purchase it from "On Military Matters." I have'nt checked to
see if they have a website or not. Perhaps one of the scholars on the site can
help in that regard?

On Military Matters, Dennis Shorthouse, 609-466-2329, Hopewell, NJ. A close
friend who also is on the list, may have already seen Kelly's message.
