Just in case this has to do with my comment about 'cyclical kibbitzing',
Boyd, please know that I meant I don't like being *in* such a discussion - not
that I disapprove somehow of others having one. You are free to use this group
any way you like subject to the bounds of propriety and Warrior gaming focus -
and I am very pleased that the recent set of posts is helping you so much.
That's what we are here for.

Indeed. But they, unlike I, can employ the delete key! :)

Then get rid of that Irr MI B unit. Just going to get yourself hurt using
that. lol
I also notice that the Han were not on your list of army 'types' to plan
against. I mean to teach the NICT crowd some respect for the Chinese....even if
it takes me a few years....lol

In an effort not to annoy anyone, I will limit my list building questions to
rationalizations based upon the limited, excellent input I've already received .
I understand that some may not enjoy dialogue, but it is essential for me in
communication of ideas. I think also that for many of the lurkers, discussion
on effective list building (perhaps the single most complex aspect of Warrior)
is welcome. While tactical insite into rules is perhaps more important for
overall gaming success, no champion goes into a tournament willynilly with any
old army composition. For myself, this is where I am weakest, as I have little
problems with the mechanics or tactics. I'm sure there are others in the same
situation.

Last night I spent about two hours running the numbers and diagraming the board
for the Normans. I essentially looked at facing three different opponants: EL
with mass bowfire, SHK supported by bowfire, and heavy foot armed with HTW. The
current list reflects a compromise that allows for more manuver flexibility,
more missile absorbtion, and less reliance on skirmishers to screen. The pesant
idea has it's place in my final analysis but in a different version. In this
version, I use the pesants as though it were just another MI column marching
along but hang back a march segment initially. In the next turn or two I find
where the enemy is pushing his shock troops and there go also the pesants.
Theory is to get the pesants in front of any schwerpunkt to absorb the initial
blow...much as if they were Italians under German control in Sicily :)

My comments were not directed at anyone Jon, as they were general in nature. I
do understand from other rules set groups that some people get overwhelmed with
emails and become irratated. I was merely offering a preemptive appology to
that end. Yes the recent discussion has been very enlightening, and the
commentary very constructive. No offense taken or given at all. I think, as my
list evolve, it is very clear the incorporation of ideas taking place. I hope,
for myself and others, that the nuances of list building are of some small
benefit.

Derek D used Han to great effect for years in TOG and actually started a trend
in both scales for a couple of years. The dual armed choppers with xbow are
absolutely wicked. And thanks, I'll look it over.

The MI B unit is a peice of meat to dangle on a flank. I will remove it once I
decide what to replace it with Smile

Well, I think that was due to good play and not some revealed Chinese
mystery...lol
And I did not choose Han to follow Derek's 'trend' (something I wouldn't do at
gunpoint), having taken them to third in the NICT while he was still a Seleucid
player. Rob T, how about you? :)

The bottom line is that Han are hard hitting, fast moving, and resistent to all
but the most concentrated bowfire. It is a very competitive army, which is why
I probably don't run it. However, I've faced it in both scales numerous times
and only had success against it with Normans. then again, as is often pointed
out, up 3 will hurt anything.
