Jon,
When we talking at too much length about Romans you pointed out that
a unit may counter-charge an enemy which is charging it from beyond
the counter-charger's charge distance.
The clarifications also have this clearly stated.
The rules _do_ state at the top of p.44 (6.166 under the heading
counter-charge)
- "otherwise a counter-charge must abide by all the same rules as a
charge"
- and "a body may not counter-charge a body that it is not eligible
to charge (6.161)".
So, if only 6.161 applies to that bullet, is it also the intention
here that you may counter-charge a body charging you from outside
your 45 degree wheeling arc? Because as stated with your present
answer it might be read as being permitted although I think it is
intended that this "cancels" the counter charge per the parenthetical
note in this rules section.
Would be nice to get that put more firmly into writing too, one way
or the other.
