There does not seem to be a scheduled Warrior event for the Labor Day weekend
convention at the San Francisco Airport Marriott this year.
I will be taking my lead in both 15mm and 25mm. If any would like to get
together for a pick up game at the convention, let me know and we can arrange
times, scale, size, and cell numbers.
I can arrange to bring loaner armies for any of those new to Warrior and would
like to play.
If any are interested trying Fantasy Warrior, I have several armies of these in
25mm that I can bring also.

sounds fine to me. 25mm, 1600 points. Maybe we can get
a qualifier together.

Fast Warrior, 1200pts, or 1600pts. Whatever what we have interest in is ok by
me. This is all going to be adhoc anyway as I had zero time to this point to
set something up formaly.
Any others interested in Warrior at SF labor day con?

A couple of thoughts on this.
First, I'm not positive I can make it that weekend. I'd say there's about a 60%
I can, but it's far from definite right now.
Second, if it's Fast Warrior, then definitely count me out. Nothing personal
guys, but Fast Warrior is just not my thing unless I'm trying to teach a new
person how to play.
Third, however informal we make the actual gaming, I think we should run it
under the auspices of a tournament: collect scores from each game, see who
scores the best for the day/weekend. There are a number of us eager to begin
the process of qualifying for the 2006 NICT, and anything we can do to help
that along, we should do.
Fourth, let's make sure we have confirmation that we've contacted all of the
following people:
- Ed Forbes
- Mark Stone
- Alex Stone
- Lenney Hermann
- Dale Shanek
- Dave Lauerman
- Brad Bode
- John Baumann
- Rich Gagliasso
- Manny Granillo
- Frank Gilson
- Terry Dix
I realize for a big gaming con like this, a lot of those guys might have other
commitments, and some of them (Frank, Terry) are out of the area and might not
be able to travel, but let's try.
Fifth, I'd recommend 25mm at 1200 points. Just about everyone in our area seems
to have a preference for 25mm. While I personally prefer 1600 points, as do
several other guys (like Lenney), it's really hard to complete a one day event
with 1600 point games. I'm all for 1600 if people are willing to make a
commitment for, say, Friday night and most of Saturday, but I think it's more
realistic to expect a one day commitment out of people and go for 1200 points.
If I'm there, I'll bring lead in both 15mm and 25mm, but I'd expect us to game
in 25mm mostly. Again, if I can make it, I'm happy to loan armies and/or
figures to anyone interested in playing.

Greetings Mark,
Unless there is considerable interest I don't think I can make it up there. I
will be out of town later in the month, and will be moving in September. If you
get a positive answer I may fly up for sat.

Terry,
I'd advise saving your travel opportunity for later. The Shield Convention that
Manny Granillo has put on the last two years has been really good. It is just
historical miniatures, so we don't have to compete with board games and with
all the fantasy/sci-fi stuff. We'll run a 1600 point, 25mm Warrior tournament
then. That'll most likely be in February.

It looks like we will have a 1200 pt / 25mm mini at the con. It will be totally
adhoc without official table space. The games will be scattered to where ever we
can pick up space.
The plan is to try and get in 4 games, 1 Fri night and 3 Sat.
Those interested should contact me directly and we can exchange cell phone
numbers to make contact at the con. I will compile a list of cell numbers for
those planing on playing so all can keep in touch at the con as we will be
scattered throughout the hotel.
I will make up 3 folding table tops of the correct size to take with me so we
can setup on about any flat surface.
I plan on arriving mid afternoon on Fri.
