From reading the list descriptions I notice that the list author(s)
has gone with the traditional "nations in motion" theory and rejected
the viewpoint of Drews _The End of the Bronze Age_. I say rejected
since it is not even mentioned as an alternative.
Any particular reason? Has there been a strong refutation of Drews?
Obviously I'm not keeping current, since I'm just getting around to
reading Drews, which was published in 1993.
On a more general note, what _has_ been published in the last decade
that throws new hypotheses onto warfare in general? The last book I
read close to publication was Hanson's _Western Way of War_.
Looking for figures with pointy hats to mount on my NKE chariot bases...

The price of freedom is infernal vigilantes
"The tyranny of the legislatures is the most formidable dread at
present, and will be for long years. That of the executive will come
in it's turn, but it will be at a remote period." James Madison, 15
March 1798 (_Papers of J.M._ vol 12, p.14; LC call no. JK.111.M24)

Coincidentally, the very same topic has been covered the last two days on
ancmed. Go to the "Chariot Era Books" thread.
