Well, this certainly was a lot to read. And my eyes got kinda tired
too. But from the point of view of a Warrior non-expert --

It is alleged that the combat effectiveness of Support Shooting is
the the same regardless of :
1) the technology level of the particular missile weapon and

2) the amount of time that one could posit as being available
(multiple shots vs one shot) and

3) other tasks distracting the shooter (standing to receive vs charging).

It should be pointed out that the same observations can be made of DBM.

There are other sets rules available which take those things into
account; however their style of rules mechanics are very different.

Warrior could theoretically be tweaked to explicitly include these
aspects, but it would probably be a nearly impossible job to
re-configure the factors without changing their relationship in all
the other ways in which they must balance. And it would require more
real-time for the players to do the counting and calculating.

So is the system "broken enough" to go to the trouble?

WRT item 1), this is usually irrelevent in historically matched battles.

WRT item 2), the amount of time is almost always the same for each
side; so the relative power of each sides' shooting is not changed.

If you demand absolute equality, then you should consider that one
volley from an enemy who has suddenly appeared at close range from
out of site over the ridge probably has a worse morale effect than a
visible enemy shooting at long range over an extended period of time.

WRT item 3), could be tweaked so a stationary body gets less of a
penalty than a moving body.

I live in Maryland. Now that Bob Ehrlich is Governer, we can expect a
reversal in the heroin addiction, syphilis, violent crime, and
political corruption spawned by the last 30+ years of liberal
Democrat autocracy.
