Tcon was a bit disorganized, but still an enjoyable con. Our Warrior game drew
MANY stares and comments. We had a lot of walkby questions, and many
encouraging words. Had I had them, I could have sold 4 copies of the rules on
Friday. We had 2 guys sign up for the game and play, and they both seem to like
it. One of them is going to buy the rules as soon as he gets home and gets to
Jacobs site.
The game itself was awesome. We played 2400 points of 25mm on a 16X5 board.
Edge of the world was NOT a factor on this beast and my MIR felt the long
expanses of emptiness as the superior Mongol Horsemen manuvered around at will.
The game felt must more realistic than normal MIR vs. Mongol with 1600 points on
8X5. There was tons of tactical movement. Command and control was a huge issue
as troops were stretched thin, and many times generals ran out of promt minutes.
Retirement and march moves were made on almost every bound, which we thought was
very cool. Orb was used as a formation more than once, and exposed flanks were
seen again and again (not always able to be exploited thank goodness). You had
to be there to see the beauty of this game. On top of thet the actual board
setup was very eye catching. We had a lot of people stop and gawk long before
there was lead on ther table. IMHO our board was in the top 2 as far as
presentation.
Jeff Lawrence has already commited to a warrior tourny at TCon next year. We
have a yera this time and should promote this event. It would make a real good
annual tourny, and would grow I think. Oak Cith is a good location for this
part of the country, as we could easily see KC, DFW, and maybe SA all going,
plus all the other small groups within 6-8 hours drive.
There will be a Warrior tourny at Fort Worth Wars in October this year as well.
Again, we would like to see this become an annual event.

Don;
Did my friends Steve Schifani and Allen Devor stop by? I know they
were planning on playing some WAB, and I think there was a WAB
doubles biffo scheduled.
Is anyone from D/FW planning on attending Call to Arms here in KC in
May?

Sorry, not able to attend due to conflict in dates.
But that's just me.

Do not recall the names. Chris Bump befriended 2 WAB dudes. Maybe it was
them.
DFW at CTA? Do not know. I am out for May though.
