Here is the way we used to run the old S.A. Cup, team event.

Each person entered as an individual with army lists. At that time we
were doing 1500 points with three lists each. Three man teams were
also submitted. The pairings went as normal for an individual event,
winners v. winners ... with the top consideration being not pairing
guys on the same team (although at times this was not avoidable).

Individual scoring was just like it always is and is not tied to team
scoring, which is a major plus. It also allowed guys to make teams
the morning of the tournament, which was also great.

Team scoring was like golf, ... on day one (three games) a draw
(margin less than 150) gave a par, a loss a boggie, and a win a
birdie. For playoff Sunday, you got a birdie if you win a game and a
par if you lose. This gives weight to teams that have guys make the
playoffs.

If two teams tied, the one with the highest individual finisher won
the team cup. If that was a tie, you did head to head for all members
of the teams in question. If that still did not produce a winner, you
used total individual points.

Just thought I would throw that out. It is a very simple system,
makes it fun to watch the standing over the course of the games, and
is completely apart from the individual scoring, which again, is very
much desired.

Thanks ... g
