Don, I think the object here is to create terrain
beyond which no enemy can advance to harm or frighten
Harlan's troops. I think the ultimate answer to this
is for Harlan to play on one table, and his opponent
to play on another. ;)

What is up with the San Antonio, Texas Wargamers?
I hear that someone is running Warrior Tournament the first weekend in May
in San Antonio?
Does anyone from San Antonio have the details?
Thanks
By the Way Pat, the counters you sent arrived safely, I appreciate that!@

I am very much interested in this answer. We have played with the GeoHex
which has platue ridgelines all over the place - raising many questions
(some which still have yet to be answered, see below).
I realize the best answer may be to do what ever you think is best. But I
want to know what people do at Historicon. Do people use GeoHex stuff at
NASAMW Tournaments? and if so, how do they deal with ridgelines.
My question that I do not believe was previously answered is, if an element
is partially on a hill and partially on flat ground and takes a charge while
halted. Does he the emeny get the charging someone on higher ground deduct?
Part two is if that unit stradling the hill and flat ground charges, does it
get the charging down a gentle slope bonus.

Nice to hear from you, Grant. Your timing is impeccable - Chimaeracon is
upcoming here in San Antonio, first wkend in May. You can check out the info
here:
http://members.aol.com/chimaeragaming/main.html
LSHM started here in San Antonio and now has chapters across the state -
Houston, Austin, Bryan/College Station, and new members in Midland. If you
didnt find my email address at our website and havent viewed it yet, check
it out here:
http://www.lshm.org/
You can check out each chaptersı schedule of events there, too. In SA, we
play DBM quite a bit, Canvas Eagles, Warmaster, and loads of others. Our
game nights are on Thursdays.
Hope to game with you soon!

Thanks Grant,
Let me ask the Lone Star group.
By the way, we are getting together at Dave's house this Saturday. You are
cordially invited to attend. Right now, we have five people confirm and two
highly probably. It is in San Antonio near Hwy 281 and Loop 1604.

Grant, We're hoping that the Texas boys come up to KC, MO for call to arms
on the weekend of the 3rd! In addition to the prizes offered by FHE and Dave
Smith, I'm giving away a couple of painted Fastwarrior Armies. Hope to see you
there! Kelly

Absolutely not.

It is there to permit boats to land. It is open terrain so does not need any
extra modeling or 'width'.

Dunes appear in two topographies - dune seas (think deep sahara) and along
windy beaches. Armies didn't fight in dune seas.

Sure. Write it up and I'll add it to them.

TOG had road cheese...lol
Since in Warrior you can have only one and it can't be longer than the long
side (meaning among other things, no crisscrossing the board with even one
road, let alone two..) they are just fine the way they are.

Don, all a beach is there for is to say that without another terrain feature
present the entire length of a 14.0 MWF is landable by boats.
It has no other function - it is open terrain.

The rules say:
"Very Rough Areas include steep slopes, woods, orchards, olives, vines,
marsh, sand dunes (except to camels which count dunes as open), and built-over
areas (unless defending perimeter). "
That is the very definition of not needing a clarification...lol. If you
play with guys who add features to that list and try to force you to play that
way, it isn't a clarification from me you need....

Don,
If memory serves me correctly, it is one element wide and it may extend past
the major water feature. .

As Patrick and I prepare for our June 21 tourney with our desert armies we
have found a few questions about 14.31.
First under major water feature: Its says it has a beach running its entire
length. What is a "beach"? This word appears nowhere else in the rules. Is
this intended to be a 'sand dune' ('sand dune' appears in 6.71)? If so, how
wide is it? Must this portion of the feature be contained within the limits
of size of the major water feature or does it extend beyond? Is the beach
portion just for aesthetics?
Second, why must you have a major water feature in order to place dunes?
Desert armies wishing to use the cool camel properties (treat dunes as
open), must get a major water feature in order to get them. Why can we not
fight in the pure desert? Am I missing something here?
Third, this is just a personal nit pick but we feel that any terrain roads
can be superimposed on, should also be able to be superimposed on roads.
When superimposing terrain on a road, the road would remain open through the
terrain feature. This should probably be an X rule? Could you add it
please. If you have ever had anyone do the 'road cheese' to you, you would
see our point. Roads are HUGE open spaces.

Cool beans on the 'beach'. I think a clarification is required though, as
both of my last two opponents who used a major water feature claimed the
beach was a very rough area.

within the limits
> > of size of the major water feature or does it extend beyond?

I feel it does. Since its open, its not water and therefore passable to all
troop types. Its width obviously has a game effect. Am I allowed to make
the beach as wide as I (the terrain placing player) want within the 1/2
flank sector size limits of the major water feature itself? Does this
'beach' extend beyond the water boundary (1/2 flank sector)? That is also a
game effect as it extends the no other terrain placement area of the major
water feature itself. Do you mean the beach is 0p wide, but allows any
boats to land. If so, a short clarification might be in order?
> Dunes appear in two topographies - dune seas (think deep sahara) and along

Righto, thanks.

OK Xrule: Any terrain roads can be superimposed on, may also be superimposed
on roads.
When superimposing terrain on a road, the road remains open through the
terrain feature.
