Patrick

We could not (not didn't want to - COULD not) write a standard rule for hills
as they come in so many shapes and styles.

I plan to put some 'umpires' guidelines (since such a thing is not properly a
rule) out for how to handle such situations and will always take
recommendations.
In our games, and what I will put in the guidlines unless a better idea comes
along, is that if half the base of the element in question is on/in the
terrain representation, that qualifies.

Note that even then, dick players will argue over the millimeter of 'half' no
matter what rules set is used......

Jon

Is their a pretty standard way that people deal with 3D hills and charging? 3D
hills are often irregular, so you'll find part of the front of the element on
the
hill and part off.
In other words is a standard way when can the defender claim "Halted on higher
ground"?

Also, there was this one time (at band camp), when I charge across (not up) a
hill, but when pivoting to conform I was facing uphill and so hit a "halted
opponent on higher ground". That sucked!

I'm not complaining though because I've seen my own troops charge uphill into
Roman LTS and not only back them down the hill, but broke some and sent them
running, tails between legs, back through Roman artillery advancing to its
rightful spot -on the hill.
