Hello,
thanks to all for the very nice welcome - I must say that this seems to be
the friendliest group I've ever been in
Especially tanks for the messages in German - Edward your German is better
than my English. (and it was in the morning to answer your question)
Jon, I have already been at your website and you should have recieved my
order by now (I hope that I calculatet p&p correctly)
Well untill I get the rules I cannot much say about it. I have read the
rules of thumbs in the files section and must say they are loking really
good, so I'm looking forward to recieve the rulebooks and lists.
Currently I own a 28mm Myceneans, 28mm Late Romans, 13th century
crusaders, 15mm Nicephorian Byzantines and 15mm Mongols. I also own 6mm
Carthaginans, Ptolemaic Greek, Late Romans (I love late Romans...),
Sarmatians, early Germanics and Thematic Byzantines all from Irregular and
therefor based for WRG6. (Though I'm considering to rebase them if I like
the new ruleset)
My son will be nine in summer and so slowly aproaches the age where gaming
with leadminiatures will become a topic ;o)
(He was always fascinated by my miniatures collection and so I currently
try to lure him into the hobby by playing GW's Lord of the Rings with him
(he is a big fan of the movies). As far I was successful as he finds it
almost as cool as the gameboygame - not bad for a child of the Computer
and Gameboygeneration (I hope that in two or three years I can get him
into casting 7YW toysoldiers in two or three years - that's how I got into
the hobby...)
Tournaments in Amerika and Australia are a bit far off from here - well on
the other hand it could be reason to visit my American relatives - hmmm
- I still hope that there will be ones in Europe. If there is no other
way we will have to organize one here in Austria - Austian open - lol
well that's it for now,
bye all,
Michael

One thing that might help with your son liking Lord Of the Rings. There is
Fantasy Warrior. My son just had a game using Fantasy Warrior at one of the Four
Horsemen's House (Bill Low). He played Orcs vs. Tom McMillan's Dwarves. Matt, my
son, said it was a good game. ASk JonCleaves about Fantasy Warrior. It is also on
this Yahoo Egroup site.
