Ok, deep breath time. No one is mad at anyone, no one is out sharpening knives
or loading their revolver.
No one is trying to stop a debate amongst list members.
Not satisfied with being the FHE rules slave, I also moderate this list. Don't
want to scare away any potential players who misunderstand a disagreement
between gentlemen. If we say 'x-rule' in response to your idea, we have not
made any personal statement about you, and I will be VERY pleased to write pages
of explanation here AFTER the rules get done.
I won't tolerate any childishness or name-calling here, however. I have been
told such has occurred in a mail from a member whose mails I do not read myself.
If anything like that happens again, I will unsubscribe such a person
immediately. THIS subject is NOT up for debate. :)
In the immortal words of Woody the Cowboy: "Play Nice!"
Congrats on 145 members!! 6 new folks this week alone. If you want to debate
something I could really use, tell me how it is we all plan to add to the same
old names I see in the Cold Wars tourney results!!
Jon

Jon, The only thing I hate about living in Texas is that we don't have any big Tourneys like Cold Wars here or anywhere near here. Is there anyway Cold Wars or another event like it could be put on in Dallas, St. Louis, New Orleans etc. Maybe Cold Wars could be given a transport element and move around each year to the provinces. If it were to come to Texas I know 8-10 passionate Warrior players that could help bring it off. David

Cold Wars is an HMGS con. Although ancients is a large part of what goes on, it
is by far not the only thing. I'll have to look and see if I know any HMGS guys
from your area to point you to.

Thanks Jon, I guess the real question is if held what would be the response from HMGS and you guys. Would you all come this way to a tounry/con. I have only been able to make Historicon once two years ago, it was great fun. I, like a lot of folks can't make that trip each year yet. I think it would do a lot for the game if (after the rules are done) the Horsemen could help start some kind of circuit. Just some thoughts and dreams.

Back in the early 90's when I lived in one place for a long time, we sponsored
the NICT in Denver. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility to show
the NASAMW EC that you can make it worth their while to try it again. Nothing
says it HAS to be in Pa.

Are you asking if it would be worth it to me, specifically? I go to between
7-12 cons a year. Which ones I choose to go to personally are based on a lot of
factors. Historicon is always at or near the top of the list due to NICT. I'm
not alone in that criterion. If 15 cons across the country have Warrior
tourneys, something else has to differentiate them. I was offering one thing I
know works. You could have an escort service do all the tourney admin, too.
I've done that. :)

Tim, would San Antonio or Dallas be better?

Jon, when I said I was a player I didn't mean I was a PLAYER... we have thought about something along those line. Would 25 mm be a better draw than 15 mm? etc...Could we offer two qualifying NICT positions? Open to suggestions...

I wouldn't wish San Antonio in July/August on my worst enemy, much less a
bunch of nice gamers. Some sort of late winter event, when it is snowing up
north and we are playing golf here, might be a draw.

I would truly relish the chance to come to a Texas "Warm Wars", where I could forfeit my round to Tim Brown for a great Texas dinner!

There's a big ancients tourney in Louisiana but it's solely DBM. Good old
John Green lives somewhere down there and is a stalwart 7.6, er Warrior
player. There's also TwisterCon in Oklahoma. Hit www.hmgs.org to find out
what's where and when.
