 |
|
Greetings All,
I plan on running a tournament at the HMGS-SW July event. Im thinking
that an 800 pt game could be done in about 1.5 hours on a 3by3 table.
Does that seem like a resonable amount of time to those who have run
tounaments? Im trying to get some of the DBAers to try Warrior and I
know that many of them dont have alot of lead. We are kinda stuck on
time the event is a DBA themed con( Phil Barker will be out for it)
and its a Saturday only deal. If we get started by 3 we would be done
with plenty of time to clean up and be gone by the 10pm closing.
Thoughts suggestions?

Terry
Fast Warrior (about 650 points or so per army) is designed to be an interim
vehicle to bring in DBAer's until we get Warrior Battles done. In 15mm, on a
3'x2' (so you close quickly). Games are 1.5 hours each MAX. Routinely they
are done before the 1.5 hour mark - we have taken to having our FW tourneys
be 1.25 hours.
My first suggestion would be to use FW. My second would be to use FW, but
allow players to make 650 point one general armies.
If you go with 800 on a 3'x3', I do still think 1.5 hours is reasonable.

Why not simply run a Fast Warrior tournament?

Then I would do 800, 3'x2' at 15mm with 1.5 hour rounds.

Jon,
That is what I will likely do then.

Terry,
the only issue might be meeting the list minimum
requirements. Doesn;t happen with a lot of lists, but
there are some otu there that are close to 800 points
already, before buying anything Optional.

Greetings Todd,
As you point out there aren't that many, I may ruduce minimums by half but not
below 1. That will be hashed out amongst the group this week or next.
