Pat, don't discourage Kelly. Whatever he's on, it is causing him to donate
multiple painted armies as prizes and I want to encourage that behavior...lol

Tis true - our good friend Jon Becker has risen to the top of the players I
recruited out here and is a force to be reckoned with (and the perfect
example of why we have the Dead Generals' Society....). He is traveling with
me to Historicon to play in his first NICT as well.

But at Border Wars, as for the first time I will get to be a player and not a
fill in, you will have more than him to worry about.... ;)

Jon

Hey Kelly ... for a Yankee, that was some pretty good trash talk. Thank you
also for the information - I honestly did not know that Iowa was now a state! I
thought it was a province of Nebraska, who's motto is;

"Honest Officer, I was just helping that sheep over the fence!"

I'm glad to hear about the success of your new local player. Tell me Kelly, did
you teach him that eight-mile ditched palisade trick? When we played in DFW, I
couldn't decide weather to call you Slim Shady, or ask if your husband also
played Warrior.

As far as the tournament, fast warrior just does nothing for me. I know lots of
people love it, and certainly understand the point of view that you have to
play what will attract the locals, but I would find it difficult to take two
vacation days to play fast warrior.

Adios, from the land of the naked table dance ... G :-)

P.S. I was going to talk some smack at the Dallas guys, but after watching the
Mavs and the Kings last night, I wouldn't want to push them any closer
to "Cyanide
City."

It's certainly not a sport the way your team plays!

Well, since "professional basketball" isn't really a sport, trash talk all
you want. No one here, including the Mavs cares enough to blink. Now if you
were to start trashing the Stars, well now we might have to throw lead on the
table to maintain honor......

>And ifns Ima filling in, that's one more to worry about:)SmileSmile Unless I bring
Swiss (which I'm thinking of doing) which is such an alien army to run, but, I
figure nobody else will run it and as a fillin, it's probably a good list to
run.

>Again, I have a decent quantity of generic medieval lead for folks to borrow if
they need it.

>And what Jon did at CTA, I'll really try to do at Border Wars, namely to match
folks up historically in the first round (should be easier given the armies we
have, that is unless the 100 Years War turns into the "English fighting each
other" 100 Years War or "French fighting each other" etc etc. If we get enough
outoftowners, I'll endeavor to balance both historical pairings and
outoftown/inoftown first round matchups.

The DGS trained Jon Becker, not Kelly. That's why he's so good - we don't so
much talk trash as we trash talkers....

Why you gotta hate, Babe? Who's your dad here? As I recall, my Burmese only lost
once to the Dreaded Han. . . and won 3 times! Smile LOL! Don't forget about the
dreaded Midianites who cleaned the plow of the Han and I sold to you in which
you brought to Leavenworth and the Burmese cleaned up on! Wink Trash talking
aside and only fun intended... SmileSmile To be fair to Jon Becker, he is a
disciplined commander who knows how to get the match-ups he wants and plays his
game not that of his opponents. This is not something that you can train most
players to do. It is often something that is innate within the person. Greg
Regets is another such person as is Ewan, and a certain Lurker who lives in New
York and runs Pointcon. . . (Tim) as well as a few others not to mention the
King of the Han (JC) (not to be confused with the Prince of Peace).

KW,

Thanks man, the tournament is going to be BIG!!! I have eighteen (yes
eighteen) people confirmed. Wow!!! I have several people coming from out
the Republic of Texas - 1x NM, 2x LA, 1x KS, and 1x GA. We will try to be
nice to these foreigners. Just don't forget to bring your passport. Almost
all the regulars are going to be there: Big Dave, Don, Greg, John, Pat, and
myself. We have several new people coming to the tournament, so Big Dave
might have someone to beat.

Greg, First of all you show much ignorance regarding the state of Missouri.
Missouri's state government voted to seccede from the union and it's government
spent it's exile in Texas throughout the war. My relatives all fought for the
Confederacy during the war of the Northern Agression, one being a Colonel in the
state Guard and Killed at the battle of Humansville. Yankee's are from places
like Maine. . . ! . . . enough said. . . !

also for the information - I honestly did not know that Iowa was now a state! I
thought it was a province of Nebraska, who's motto is;

P.S. I was going to talk some smack at the Dallas guys, but after watching the
Mavs and the Kings last night, I wouldn't want to push them any closer
to "Cyanide
City."
