Do you have to reveal details if a unit is not visible/known, but on
the table (i.e. a unit that has moved entirely in the woods, etc)

Thanks
Cole

Hi Jon.

Just curious, but does the new iteration of the rules have listed
somewhere (maybe in section 14 for tourney play?) WHAT exactly CAN
be hidden from an opponent regarding your troops?

I know that you have stated that Incendiary missiles have to be
revealed, including number of shots, just like Fire Lances.
However, having that written down somewhere (clarifications for now,
new rulebook later), along with everything else that has to be
declared, would be a BIG help.

Maybe something along the lines of: "You MUST declare to your
opponent all information about units in your bodies EXCEPTING the
following:" and then have a bulleted list of what doesn't have to be
revealed?

So far as I have determined, the only things he is left guessing
about are:

- Morale class (are those Irr A's or Irr D's? Better shoot them up
and see what happens....)

- composition of Flank Marchers (I'm dicing for Arrivals, and if I
get a 5 or 6, THEN I'll tell you what it is, otherwise, keep
sweating)

- Ambushing troops (These need to be PRECISELY noted down on your
pre-battle set up map with regards to orientation and position, but
otherwise, you don't have to tell your opponent about it until you
actually place them on table)

- Incendiary expendables (16.27, pg 92)

- Rocks ? (16.3, pg 92)

- Initial Tactical Orders for each command (you DO have to reveal if
your army switches from WAIT to ATTACK because of a signal or unit
charge, right?)

If you could give an official, comprehensive, word on this, it
would be a BIG help.

Thanks!

I am, in fact, working on the final draft of the rules. And one big part of
that is indeed a comprehensive listing of what can be kept secret and for how
long. It is not going to be a long list.
