All who know me also know that DBM is not my preferred rule set. To say so is
less than credulous. I played DBM, because my then gaming aquaintances, Jon and
Eric, preferred it over any other system at the time. It's not a shame to admit
to losing games to anyone or playing any particular game system. I didn't
intend to incur anyones ire either. I believe that Harlans reference was merely
a joke and not an indictment of gaming preferences. As for my part I stand by
what I wrote as the truth and leave it at that as I will agree that both our
recollections are diametrically different as to our former gaming aquaintances.
As you have stated regarding this thread, I shall let this die here as well.

Dissatisfied that WRG had stopped supporting 7th and without the time to make
my own rules, I played DBM from 94-97 - winning the DBM Theme at Cold Wars in
97 (and almost pulling off the NICT as a fill-in..) before my tour in Europe
took me away from Ancients altogether for two years.
When Scott told me the 7th engine might be available back in the spring of
99, I was ready to jump back in. After the Yugo War, of course...

I have not played any other ancients game since the formation of FHE, and
will not.

Jon
