There will again be a one-day Warrior tournament at PointCon this year,
with my humble self as organiser (and hence umpire, ha). Format to be
confirmed shortly - I'm leaning toward a 1200-pt tourney, but could be
convinced otherwise if people really want to do Dogs, standard 1600, or
something else - let me know.

Ewan,

I am up for anything at this point. I guess I would prefer NOT to have Dogs
of war - been there, done that many times. I will try to make it w/ life being
what it is - so put me down for a definate maybe.

Ewan,

If you do go 1200 pts. could I suggest a reduced table size 4x4 or 3x5. One
gets tired of the chase or fighting a skirmish game all the time. If I can amke
it there I'd love to mix it up.

Thanks,

Todd

Todd -

- first, thanks for the input Smile. Yes, I'd run (this'll be a 15mm
event) a mini on (probably) 3x5 tables, if we do 1200 pts. Decision soon.

Ewan:

Thanks for volunteering to do this.

Cold Wars has fired me up again, and I am fairly certain I will be
able to make it this year.

Anyone else?

Hi Asif (and all).

Just got back this morning from a trip to the UK; got to spend a bunch of
time in museums, including the astounding British Museum; lots of material
for historical gamers!

Anyway, just one event at PointCon: it'll be 1200 points, 4x4 tables, 480
pace deployment zone. No list restrictions. Your humble correspondent as
umpire. 3 rounds: tentative timing 9-12.30, 1-4.30, 5-8.30. 15mm only.
At least one significant prize Smile.

This is copied to Steve Waddell for his info, and I'll copy Jeff also to
make sure it gets to the website.

Play extra rounds Smile.

I am actually thinking that I will run a FW comp alongside, if it gets to
this, and have a bonus score from that feed into the main event.
Incentive to play fast, sure. And we can always adjust timing on the day
if the first round is indeed done by 10. Hey: that would allow for us to
play 8 rounds in the same timing Smile Smile.

I figured that combination might allow for (i) close foot to get into
action with larger deployment zones, but (ii) LC to have more depth to
evade/skirmish than they would on a 3x5. We'll see. If everyone brings
pikes, I'm wrong Wink.

Ya know, I realize all you TOG dinos think 3 hours is slow, but it is still
a good comfortable pace for me and I've been playing a little while now. I
don't like to be rushed, particularly since many of the players up here are
new and need extra time. Still that is a very small board and wouldn't leave
much room for complicated manoeuvring. You would think that a decision
would come quite quickly. And what's wrong with fitting in drinking time
anyway :-)

Missed Cold Wars this year but will see you all next year.

Allan

Hi folks -

- many of you will already have seen this, but: PointCon Warrior will be
1200-points, one-list, 15mm, on 4x4 tables with a 480 pace deployment
zone. I'm hoping that that combination should allow for almost any army
type!

We'll play 3 rounds, starting at 9 a.m. *promptly*.

Any questions, let me know - hope to see lots of you there, and let me
know if you're coming? Thanks.

Ewan
