The revised rule book will incorporate all the clarifications. The index
will continue to be made available on line.

Hi, I just got my copy of the Warrior rules, and I am very pleased
with the efforts made by the authors to make the rules clear, a great
improvement on 7th edition! I am surpriesed to see that there is no
index (it has been done as it's available from the website) and
dismayed that the latest corrections and clarifications are not
included. I know the authors say there will be no Warrior 8.1 ("I
called Phil Barker last night") edition, but by completely re-writing
sections 12 and 14 (re-formatted in Games Workshop/TSR style) they are
certainly heading that way.
Is there any chance that the rule book and army lists could be
published in a ring-binder format, so that (a) all the army lists and
rules could be put together in one book and (b) changes could much
more simply be added????

Great! Will you consider making it available like Advanced Squad
Leader in a ring-binder format, or at least in a booklet form that
allows the user to punch holes in the books so they can be put in a
ring binder together, and new pages easily inserted???? Inevitably
there are going to be further changes/corrections/clarifications to
the rules and it would be fantastic to see FHE take the lead in making
it as fast and easy as possible for these changes as to be used.
Printing the rules in such a user-friendly format is bound to increase
their popularity. It also encourages users to produce add-ons and
playing aids.

It will be in a form where it is easy to take it to kinko's and punched, but
it will not come that way for marketing reasons.

I think a release in that format would be great - it could be like a
lawyer's practice manual in an area - with updates and instructions
for replacing pages and adding new sections.

I assure you, Chris, that we have taken all of that into account -
customers, retailers and distributors.
Thanks for your support.

I suppose that the marketing reasons are that buyers will think the
format ugly, second rate, flimsy or tacky. They will not think so
if you do it right (like Avalon Hill) eg give it a robust, good
looking cover, internal protective pages, and colourful dividers .
Remember that 80% of sales comes from your existing customers, who
will not judge the rules by their cover!
I would suggest that there are a lot of marketing reasons why they
should come that way. I used to sell A$900 subscriptions for ring
bound publications that sold very weill. Every three months a new
set of pages was sent to the subscribers. I know a guy who has
scanned the entire DBM manual into a computer so that it can be
printed in larger format and the changes easily integrated. He
carries all the DBM army list books and rules around in one ring
binder - so much more convenient, I'm always losing one of the books!
Some marketing reasons for this method are:
a) nobody else does it, and you need to differentiate your product
from that of your competitors as much as possible.
b) It shows a readiness to innovate and listen to your users
b) Users will like the ability to integrate the books into one
