				| Alas,

I will be unable to attend. I got off the leash at Bayou Wars last weekend,
but this weekend, I have to take care of the next generation while my wife
takes a speech pathology certification exam. By the time that is over, I
couldn't get to S.A. until evening. I just got back from Michael's where I got
 a 3 x
2 piece of foamboard which I am prepping to instructing my son in Fast
Warrior this weekend. He's dying to learn, so I will get some quality game time
 in.
Maybe someone can answer a question. I've heard of folks actually painting
large areas with diluted white glue and then flocking it. Does anyone know
the ratio of water to glue that is most effective?

Perhaps we can get together later this summer. Yes, my chariots would love
to rumble, but I am also rebasing my Greek Hoplites. They're the second army I
ever painted, so they don't hold a candle to many, but I still like 'em :-)

The South Texas Warrior bunch will be gaming at Dave "The Beast" Beeson's
house tomorrow, starting about 8:30. We'll try to get in three games in
the usual format (1600 pts, standard tables, etc.) but nothing formal as I
understand it. I will actually be there, God willing. Can you make it on
such short notice, John "Big Daddy" Garlic? I'm wondering how my Greeks
will deflect chariots. Badly, probably. If anyone has been monitoring this
listserver and is in the San Antonio area and would like to play or learn
how to play Warrior, email a response and I'll give further
details/directions off-list if necessary or Dave's phone no. Dave's house
is at 3327 Flamingo Basin. Roll up and win...

				| Thanks for all of the great ideas. I've no problem with bases, just wanting
to make a terrain board for FW. I may check out the 'gel pumice' at Michaels
before trying the glue, although that is the way I was inclined.

grainy than most gel pumice I've used.

I agree with Terry, John, but I also add dark umber or raw umber paint
(about 20% of the overall mix). Otherwise, if you lose any flocking or it
thins out with wear, it looks like snow rather than dirt underneath!!
Sorry you can't make it tomorrow.

				| I use undiluted white glue and fine railroad ballast. When the white glue
is dry I give the base a second coat of roughly 70:30 water:glue to seal it
down. After letting that dry overnight I paint it.

 My flock don't come off!

For coloured flocking, what I used to do was to secure it down with
undiluted white glue and, after letting it dry overnight, putting a
protective clearcut over the figures AND the base to seal the flock down.

				| Johnny,

I hear Speech Pathologists make better pay in horsepistols (hospitals) than
in education is that true? Would the next generation happen to have any little
 Klingons or Federation forces? :)

				| Johnny,
I take cheap wal mart brown paint and mix it up in the pumice mixture and dry
brush the dried result with raw sienna and desert yellow sand. then use static
 grass dispersed.

 hope this helps,
