Steven,
I noticed a trend here. Why just one list? Is to make it easy on the
umpire? It seems to me that if you were putting on a Theme based tournament
where the armies had historical opponents this would make sense. If this is an
open tournament, one would think that it would be logical to allow another list.
My logic stems from the fact that New Kingdom Egyptians for example would most
likely come up with different tactics and troop choices when faced by elephants
or knights. Additionally, this handicapps armies that actually were flexible. So
why just one list for an open tournament? "By Uncle Spanky's left Thumb", I
can't understand why this trend has started.

decided what??
Logic's not going to work in an open competition, LOL
Steve is running the tournament as a last prep for Historicon, at
Historicon's NICT you can only have one list. The trend is people
wanting to prep for larger/national competitions, and they only run
one list.

Ok, before this dead horse gets flogged too hard again...lol
Scott will be psoting the results of this year's NICT poll soon, I imagine. If
the one or two list question goes like it did last year, it will probably be one
list again. Because it has been that way for a while, a lot of local tourneys
have been one list.
Personally, I do not have a dog in this fight. I think one list makes some
armies more viable than they would be in a two-list open. I think the reverse
is also true. The important thing is to remember that you can run your event
any way you want - there is NO need to mimic the championships.
As far as the NICT goes - we'll have to see how the voting turns out....

Greetings Anonymous Internet Guy, I don' t know about Warrior trends, I have
only been at this game for a year this weekend. This will be the first
tournament I have organized and umped. I have played in 7-8 competitions and
have never been in a 2-list. It's a thought for the next one I run though...
Depends on how much whining there is about fixed terrain.
While I have the mic, if anyone has any scores from previous tourneys they would
be willing to e-mail me, I would appreciate it. I am trying to test out an
alternate scoring system. I would need the points each opponent scored (345 to
198, etc). The more tourneys, the better.
FYI - This tourney is at Hoge Barracks.

Steve,
Jon reminded me that in the past the tournament has "blocked" some
rooms in Hoge Barracks for people for Friday night. You might want
to check and see if they are doing it this year.

Steve,
Are you going to decide choice of table side by who has the most scouting
points? This is what Darrell Smith did when we used to do those cool horse
archer tournaments with fixed terrain. And by the way, I think it is a very good
idea to do the fixed terrain thing as it will save oodles of time.

Okay, so if one is trying to run a prep of the NICT, then shouldn't that be in
25mm and fixed terrain should be out. Or am I mistaken as to the NICT format?
