Hi, a question regarding armour upgrades on Arab foot warriors in the Arab Conquest list, DW15.

Possible typo on page 31 first line, states in part “…..or Foot Warriors to HI @ 8 pts if MI, @ 6 pts if LMI”.
Should this read “HI/LHI”?

As it stands a friend of mine is trying to use this line to justify taking the foot warriors as LMI then upgrading some to HI, giving him a mix of close and loose order foot warriors. Of course this type of upgrade would be at 11 pts in any case. Notes on page 32 also only refer to HC and HI, no mention of LHI.

Also, can you have MI Foot Bowmen if you have taken the LMI Foot Warrior option?

Having run these guys quite often to the dismay of our opponents, I can offer the following:

pg 31: 'all Foot Warriors must be identically armed' means all LMI or HI. However, Footbowmen can be either MI, LMI, or LI independently of the Foot Warriors.

If you want to mix them - they must be the same order - all loose or all close in a unit. ( pg 32)

As for the LHI upgrade, strictly reading the line means no LHI spearmen. That's probably the author's intent since the Axemen are specifically pointed out instead of 'any troops to LHI', ect, etc.
