Quick Announcement of the Scoring System to be used at the Australian 15mm Warrior Titles at Cancon January 2007
They will follow pretty much the system set out in p121 of the rules
ie
Scored at Least 1 Game Point = 1 Victory Point
Scored at Least 201 Game Points = 2 Victory Points
Scored at Least 401 Game Points = 3 Victory Points
Scored at Least 150 more Game Points than opponent --> +1 Victory Point
Scored twice as many Game Points as opponent (and at least 300) --> +1 Victory Point
In Addition
* Opponent's entire army is destroyed or demoralised --> +2 Victory Points

I look forward to attempting to be the first to get 7 points in a game!
Alexandrian Imperial I think is the go!

I don't supposed you guys would consider using some of the new playtest rules I posted last week. Would be an excellent venue to try some of em. But at this late date, that might be too much to ask from the players.

It is sort of our national championship so I am not sure it is the place for playtest rules that effect how troops work.

Thanks for the offer Scott - but as Adrian says, these are the National Titles and so we would prefer to keep them as true to the standard rules as humanly possible.
As an unrepentant Pre Feudal Scot General I have to say that I like the look of these additions but I'll have to cut loose on them another day.

Perhaps the April tournament can use the rules?

Using these new victory conditions, it appears possible to end with a 6-5 result.
Looking forward to Cancon and a possible 42 point score!
Cheers

I did call it the 4th Australian 15mm Championships
So if'n the big kids don't want to recognise the title I can refer back to the definition and go into smug mode.

Greetings All,
just to let all attendees at Cancon know that I intend that light feild guns will be subject to the accidental explosion ruling in Catastrophes (10.4 p89 para 1).
I might be wrong, but they are part of the one category in the troop descriptions (2.22 p9 para 2 last bullet point). If so I'm happy to be corrected.

It was a highly successful competition - 16 entries and an interesting mix of armies.
The addition of the 2 points for destroying or demoralising all of an opponents army led to the lead changing hands a few times over the course of the 6 rounds.
The final standings were
1. John Ball - Alexandrian Imperial - 26pts
2. Paul Rattray - Alexandrian Imperial - 23pts
3. Brad Leonard - Scots Common - 23pts
4. Paul Collins - Sassanid Persian - 22pts
5. Mark Ball - 100 Years War English - 22pts
6. Michael Morgan - Early Achaemenid Persian - 19pts
7. Guy Sheppard - Later Carthaginian - 17pts
8. Leigh Dunn - 100 Years War English - 16pts
9. Gary Coughlan - Sassanid Persian - 16pts
10. Reg Poulton - 100 Years War English - 15pts
11. Shaun Breadner - Early Byzantine - 15pts
12. Ian Poade - Georgian - 15pts
13. Barry Hayes - Alan - 15pts
14. John Harris - Later Achaemenid Persian - 12pts
15. Nathan Jones - Medieval Spanish - 9 pts
16. Greg Traeger - Feudal Japanese - 3pts
Countback was based on the sum of all opponent scores.
Mayhem Award (Most Casualties inflicted by a single unit) - Michael Morgan
Heahunter Award (Highest Ajusted Score by Player Ratings) - Mark Ball
Ripple of Death Award (Most Units disabled by a single combat result) - Mark Ball.
The top 3 placegetters were ineligible for the minor trophies.
The additional 2 points for a total victory did not overly skew the results. I checked out the math and by converting all the 7pt wins to a standard 5pt win there were only some shuffling of the places between 10 and 13.
Oz warrior types - be ready for some email traffic as I discuss some possible format tweaks for next year.
For example - Dribble stop as time approaches - in effect when it is close to the end of the game I will call - "Cease all movement now and complete any combat where units are already in contact" rather than call "Do not start another bound".
