Thanks for the article Scott. I posted it to my AP Euro students as we study the fall of the Aztecs in class. 100 years and a reduction of 95% is staggering to say the least.

We also take a look at de las Casas insights into the mistreatment of the native population http://origins.osu.edu/milestones/july-2015-bartolom-de-las-casas-and-500-years-racial-injustice.

It is of my belief and one of the reasons I play Aztec/Tepanec is to revenge the disease and conquest - Assuming they could have survived the diseases maybe they could have held off the Spanish.

that is interesting.....multiple epidemics hitting a population in succession. crazy to think about that.
