I was wondering if there is a standard Warrior list for the composition of a Polybian Roman (Punic War era) legion?

The army list doesn't make this very clear--would it be the minimums for each of the hastati/principes (8 ), triari (4), velites (4), and cav (1)? (Doesn't seem right, since elsewhere it says that triari can't be more than 1/3 of hastati/principes...).

Similarly, how are the ala of a Polybian Legion treated? From what I've read, they were equipped like the legion itself, but should they be Raw, for instance? I see that there are also "Allied" Italian infantry, but they look like a totally different beast (LMI, JLS, etc).

I'll be interested in what some of our list concoctors do, Todd, Frank.

I can't remember off hand the last time somebody ran Polybians so maybe they can provide a list.

Wanna make sure we don't have a long-missed ambiguity in there.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for a list to be used in competitive play, but actual legions for use in a campaign that I'm setting up. So perhaps something from a "scenario" or historical battle, if there are any such?

As you may know, Warrior piggybackS off WRG 7th Edition Rules.
You can download a free copy of these from the WRG website in England.
Page 47 gives " Suggested Unit Sizes" for various famous armies INCLUDING " Camillan Roman" (this covers the Carthaginian wars).

CAMILLAN ROMAN:
Roman Cavalry. 300 2x3HC. 1:50
Hastati or Principes. 1,200 4x4HI. 1:76
Triarii. 600 2x4HI. 1:76
Velites. 1,200 8x2LI. 1:76

Note, the above is using elements, so "3HC" means "an element base with 3 HC figures on it" etc.

The WRG army Lists for 6th Edition are also freely downloadable and Volume 1 List 46 is Camillan Roman. With these you got figure counts, NOT element counts, and had to calculate the number of elements "x figures" were equivalent to for 7th Edition (which replaced figures with elements for the first time).
I have tried to attach both books to this post but it's my first attachment attempt so may not succeed!
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Bill Peck 😀
