We've updated the Roman Rules Players Guide.
One thing in there that isn't a change but is something that falls into the always lovely "but we've never played it that way" that's also not necessarily confined to just Romans is counting overlapping elements. I wanted to highlight there here.
It involved replacing in combat. Remember that if a unit is replaced in combat, the unit being replaced is moved back even if the unit replacing it might have a narrower frontage.
We then get to the point of this which is:
When replacing in combat, the charger is considered at first contact but the target is not.
That means if the target would have elements that overlap against the new, incoming charger and would have been eligible to fight against the target being replaced, they get to fight in overlap against the replacing unit.
Heh heh, I'm sure Frank will have a follow-on comment to this or any questions that might arise.
For those of you who have been playing it this way, great. For those who have not, FYI.
