				Historicon:

2022: Elephant Theme

2023: New World/Pacific Theme

2024: Rise of Carthage

2025: Timur

2026: The Galatian Invasion

2027: British Isles in the Dark Ages

2028: Carthaginian Empire

I’m aware of the lack of Medieval themes in this aside from kinda Timur. My solution is to alternate tightly defined Late Medieval themes into Doubles. It’s better in Doubles because 2000 points works better with the more expensive troop types. I'll alternate the format, one year “open”, next year “something medieval”. 2022 will start with Open Doubles, thus, I'll have a Themed Doubles in 23/25/27.

UPDATE Sep 2022: Because Cold Wars was cancelled in 2022, I'm pushing back the start of Themed Doubles so it'll be 24/26/28. It'll take us that long to get Hussite's right.

Medieval themes aren't written in stone yet. The three I'm considering are Iberian Peninsula (built around Medieval Spanish), WOTR (not many armies but we'll figure out weighting or something in an effort to encourage various flavors of the WOTR army) and...Hussites. We're going to keep testing and experimenting with Hussites online so that hopefully by 2027 we'll have em in a more playable state. I plan on playing Hussites no matter what. Other possible Medieval themes could be something like the 4th Crusade which would bring in some Byzantines or built around Italian Condotta which would bring in practically everybody. I prefer more tightly defined themes, hence my three preferences (Iberian, WOTR, Hussites).

Following details on Hcon Friday Themes. No weighting, etc., just the basic list of armies.

2022, Elephant Theme

Already done and posted on Forum.

2023, New World/Pacific Theme

All armies from the revised NWW. Weighting and list restrictions to be posted. Chichimec LC will be severely limited.

Note this isn’t the Galatians throughout their entire presence, just the initial 281 BC invasion and subsequent settlement in Asia Minor. We have a slight advantage in that weightings from the 2015 Theme will more or less apply here (http://www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17402)

6-Thracian (Early Period only; no Greek Mercenaries)

2027, The British Isles in the Dark Ages

The Doubles Theme from 2020 minus Romano-Brits and some revised weighting.

2028, The Carthaginian Empire

Not a lot of armies but a lot of abilities to power game given the armies. Weighting and list restrictions to be posted.

16-Syracusan

21-Gallic

33-Polybian Roman

34-Later Carthaginian

The cancellation of Cold Wars has changed the timeline a bit, but only a bit.

I'm now thinking of doing the Open Doubles at Fall In 2022. Mini on Fri, Doubles on Saturday, basically Cold Wars in November.

Sure, it means Doubles in Nov and then again the following spring but we've got NICT in the summer and two Minis.

FYI, I might use even an Open Doubles event to playtest some things, like Hussites.

Just musing at this point.

				| Sounds good, Scott, let us know if you'd like certain types of testing to help you organize events. |
