Hello!

Is there a rule that a JLS armed Elephant driver cannot fight to the front
in the first round of combat? I've been unable to find it so if there is -
could someone point me to the reference...

Also, assuming there is a such a rule - any opinions on whether its
worthwhile to purchase upgrades to unarmed EL drivers?

Thanks!

To assist the player all rules for elephants were consolidated in 13.1. The
rule you are looking for is 13.16. You can also find this info in 9.21.

I believe jon is trying to say that he is no different from any other
crewman. Which reminds me of a question i asked some time ago about elephant
towers.

I dont believe it was answered.

I asked whether it was ok to field elephants with/without towers
irrespective of what the list said as long as the crew numbers and armaments
were
rightly depicted. I have for many years fielded mixed units with a towered
elephant as the lead elephant for example.

This is in the main a question about the seleucid list, but could refer to
any.

The tower serves no game mechanic?
or does it? something about visibility probably?

Indeed, he is like any other crewman. If he's armed, he's an armed crewman.

Elephant towers and howdahs have no game effect.
