How long rounds should be is a good question. We used one hour at Cold
Wars, which seemed generally a tad too short, (tho admittedly my games were
slowed up as I was learning the mechanics.) Two hours would seem excessive.
Other opinions?

Hello-
Something is wrong here.I completely agree with Boyd. Fast Warrior is a
Good Thing. I am gonna play in two events locally in the next 6 weeks ( Kubla
Con 5/24 and one at Game Habitat in Monterey CA 6/11) and there seems to be
a lot of enthusiasm. Plus, I bought a new 25mm Parthian army from Old Glory
for 150 smackers- all I gotta do is paint it. What's not to like ? Plus, the
games are a lot less taxing than full ( 1600 pt ) games are. Definitely a
Good Thing !-dave lauerman

I used 2 hours as a inference. I was teaching my son
to play while learning myself over the weekend, and
two hours was average.

>During playtesting, yes, 2 hours simply allowed those players who
*always* play to a time limit *play* to that time limit. It appears the
pace of a game (in the mind of some) stretches or contracts depending on
the time limit.
>1.5 hour games seemed ideal, struck a good balance, and prodded people
to keep moving and not *think* too much.
>It's funny but I observed this quite often during DBA Midnight Madness.
Guys with 12 elements of troops agonizing over moves for 10 minutes.
Okay, the 10 minute part was rare (saw it once) but I was suprised at
what I saw in terms of brain cells expended on moves. And FW *can* be
no different. It's no wonder chess uses a clock:) :)

>Yeah, it does kinda make you wanna look up in the sky and make sure the
asteroid isn't hurtling down:) :)

>Nicely worded, polite feedback is always appreciated so please post
your thoughts and experiences here when completed. Obviously we
couldn't playtest all 276 armies out of period so I'm expecting the
usual "this army is a loser" type of comments. But, I really do want to
ensure that we got the rough balance okay. As I've stated before, I
forsee a time when we offer up some variants of the FW lists, just not
this year:) :)

Like Dave, I find myself preferring smaller armies as I get older, 1200
pts is an ideal size for me--I'll even run Burgundian Ordonnance in 15mm
at that point level and do fairly well with it.

Yea, just keep looking up, don't worry about what's
below the ground ;]

amen brother. I remember when 1200 was standard. And
who needs all those subgenerals messing with your mind
:^o

As I said before, I'm absolutely estatic that my
Crusader foot get B and JLS and sh. I don't care
about history when I know my close order bow will not
die in one bound ;)
Seriously though, and we all agree, this is THE
selling point for Warrior. FW is marketable.

Burgundian in 15mm!!!?? Now that's a challenge in any
rules system I've played. In DBM you get maybe 13
elements, which is up from 12 in DBA :^D
