Y'know, this question gets asked a lot when it's totally irrelevant.
Sure, my chances of beating you with you using <killer army X> are much
larger than my chances of beatig Dave M using Early Mound Builder. But my
chances of beating Dave are significantly enhanced if he chooses to use
EMB vs. Alexandrian Imperial. Is any of that other than obvious?

Well, honestly, I am not sure.

Are you saying that your more worried about the army
on the table than the guy playing it?

Or that Players of my caliber (which is OK but by no
means great), are somehow automatically better if we
use a list with good list rules (such as Alex.
Imperial)?

If it were irrelevant, wouldn't every player out there
be playing a list that had special rules?

Honestly, the chances of you beating me with
Seleucid's are pretty good no matter what list I
choose to run against you, right? You're a much
better player than I am, with a better knowledge of
the game and how it works. If I chose to run Alex.
Imperial Against you, would my chances of winning be
that much greater simply because of the list?

I don't believe so, at least not until I get better at
the game.

Todd

Well - you can choose not to believe so, of course; but the answers to
your questions are no (but both); yes; no; yes, and yes.
