Muz, just send 'em. We'll let you know if we can't use one or more and
why...

We very much prefer shots of figures 'in game' on nice terrain. But we
cannot use any shots between ahistorical opponents.

With the photos, what level of critique is there about accuracy of
standards, colours etc.
I have a number of armies which are well painted (at least I think
so), and accurate as far as I can tell, but for instance my El Cid
general may not have exactly El Cids actual standard (if any one
knows what that was) and his cloak is red (where someone may know it
should be black).
Should we not worry about stuff like that and leave it to you to
determine if sufficiently accurate? If so, I can get clicking,
which may encourage others to also submit.

No, only kidding, Muz.... In all seriousness, the general standard of Murray's
figures as painted by him - especially his most recent stuff - are nothing short
of 'collectable/premium level'.

Hav added some sample photos in the files section - ran out of room
and the photos section seemed to have errors on it - let me know if
you prefer close photos of figures, or distant photos or games in
operation etc - will add better scenery when know your criteria
Have Berbers (andalusian) Swiss, Spanish, Chinese, Sassanid to
photograph

The photos are great!
I will be taking all that get sent to me, but a couple of notes.
In order for us to put them in a product or on our website, we need them to be
accompanied by the following:
-name of the manufacturer of all figs depicted.
-name of the painter of all figs depeicted (and the owner if different).
-name of the photographer
Put the sender's name or initials in the photo name...
We cannot pay you for these. They are all subject to the submissions guidelines
listed in the files section (standard lawyer stuff). We *will* give you credit,
and will *only* publish these photos officially if we can give the proper
credit.
Photos more likely to get chosen have...
-the best painted figures
-the best based figures
-the best terrain (nicely modeled hill better than cloth over a book, no felt!)
-sky background over white
In game shots MUST be historical matchups
The best 8 photos we have by May will be candidates for the rulebook. The rest
will be candidates for later products.
Dave Smith? Mike Bard?
Has someone been identified to take pro shots of Platea?
Keep 'em coming!
Jon

Sky background over white? Do you mean a white background or a blue/sky
background (cut out the typical hobby/player background and paste in a sky
background)?
> Dave Smith? Mike Bard?
I haven't forgotten. I've been rebasing and cleaning up my hoplites to make
them better, and there is another person here with a superior painted
Alexandrian army. There are 2 matchup sets there (hoplite vs hoplite and
hoplite vs Alexander). There are a number of chariot armies being worked on
that will give some matchups (Achean vs. Hittite, Achean vs Egyptian,
Hittite vs Egyptian) but they're not ready yet.

Not that I've heard. As soon as I can register it for Cold Wars (last time
I checked -- late last week -- you still couldn't register anything on the
site) and then I'll stick up a web page with details. I have found a good
map of the battle site and do have a rough sketch of the armies (roughly
2500pts per side, at 100:1 ratio and hence half ground scale).

No, sorry. I meant a background made to look like the sky *as opposed to* white
cardboard or a sheet. Or a sky background digitially inserted.

Kick ass...

I know Jeff Zorn was asking for PEL info, so I'd check daily..

Murray, El Cidīs standard probaly was the word CAMPIDOCTOR in golden letters in
a green field. The pattern probably like a norman gonfanon. El Cidīs shield
probably was a green dragon on a yellow (golden) field. A red cloak seems ok to
me.

Also please remember that while we want to showcase our player's artistic
efforts, we, especially for the interior of the rulebook, want to give a
customer an idea of what Warrior looks like - it is also about the basing and
units
formed up and in action.

If people want to see good photos of painted fiures, try the
gripping beast site www.grippingbeast.com and the vendel site
www.vendelminiatures.co.uk and of course perry miniatures for
Samurai www.perry-miniatures.com
They have some superb photos of groups of figures, to give you some
ideas and inspiration.
