Thank you Scott and Bill for all your hard work.
On Steve's Gym the hot discussion is later Ottoman Turks and whether this is the new wonder list. |

It's been rendered playable.
Note that the Ottoman Empire...was just that, and was very successful, generally speaking, on the battlefield.
Another relevant point is that plenty of folks 'have the lead', but have not been playing it.
Finally, while you can have lots of really useful infantry...there's not much else, no elephants, no SHC, no SHK. If you want some of the options...that means a sub/ally with the usual complications.
Still...certainly playable as a competitive choice. |

I think you will see a lot of it - very good list - and with ditched palisades in forward sectors - large numbers of artillery are doable |

Yes, you could "Pull a Hauser", as it were, and run 8 artillery pieces behind Ditch, with Chains...sure thing. |

Quick first impressions:
I like the handling of Military Order knights in the crusader lists. I think this is the balanced approach to these unusual troops, and it makes their associated lists more interesting.
Also interesting to see more elephants showing up on Seljuq and Khwarizmian. On balance I think that's a good thing, giving some important armies historically more versatility in how they can be played.
And thanks for making the Varangians consistently implemented across all the Byzantine lists. I'm not sure that Varangians existed in suitable numbers by the very end of the Later Paeleologan period, but history is uncertain and some sort of guard troops trained in that manner, if not literal Norsemen, may well have existed to the very end.
For the min-maxers amongst us -
Lists that got A LOT better:
* Early Paeleologan Byzantine
* Later Paeleologan Byzantine
* Later Crusader
* Catalan Company
* Albanian
* Later Ottoman Turk
* Seljuq Turk
Lists that got subtly but importantly better:
* Later Hungarian
* Wallachian/Moldavian
* Fatimid Egyptian
* Khwarizmian |

I would agree with the list of improvements - I think as a whole we got 2-5 new A lists and some A lists got better- my Janissaries will probably now see the table - I think Ottoman with 2 elements of ditched palisade in the forward sectors ha sthe potential to run over any non shooting list - just by the volume and quality of fire power and cavalry - you deploy first they pick their spot and have more firepower than any other list in the game - against non shooters - I think Mesos may give them fits - bit not at all sure of that |

So if I'm reading this right early Nikephorians no longer have the option to downgrade their Kavallarioi to Ds. |

Makes sense - thanks!
And thanks for putting out the book y'all - Holy Warrior is my second favorite era after Dark Age, so I'm so thrilled to be able to have digital copies of both now. |
